Sandi Werfel

Sandi Werfel is a seasoned communications professional with two decades of experience leading PR strategy for top-tier media brands and high-profile events.

At Time Inc., she served as Director of Public Relations for PEOPLE, running corporate communications and media relations across the brand’s print and digital assets, corporate partnerships, and special events. Werfel established an internal communications team for the brand’s publishing arm and worked closely with executives across Time Inc. on positioning and strategy.

During a period of unprecedented competition, Werfel’s team innovated PEOPLE PR’s breaking news system, reaffirming its reputation as the global authority on celebrity news. She led media campaigns for iconic franchises, brand launches, relaunches, and internationally licensed editions. She worked closely with sales and marketing to deliver high-impact events and cross-promotions to reach new audiences for top advertisers.

In addition to managing PR for PEOPLE’s partnerships with Hollywood award shows and nonprofits, Werfel played a key role in producing PEOPLE.com’s first live red carpet broadcast, positioning the brand alongside top TV outlets. Leveraging PEOPLE’s performance during a period of record growth, Werfel’s team delivered a two-year streak of prestigious industry honors from Advertising Age, Adweek, and others.

After her tenure at Time Inc., Werfel remained active in media and publishing, launching the New York Times bestseller “An Invisible Thread,” writing for Davler Media and consulting on a range of communications-based projects. Werfel began her career in publicity at Buena Vista Pictures Marketing and IN STYLE. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her husband, Brian. They live on Long Island with their two sons.
